that goes through
the process of how to write and produce music using an inexpensive (sometimes free) piece of music software that you can use on your computer. Using Garageband we will show you how a song can be written, produced, overdubbed, edited, mixed and mastered all on your PC/Mac without you having to play any instrument if need be! It does not matter if you have a PC or a Mac as Garageband will give you an idea of how a basic music software package will work! Click on Songwriting Course on the left for more details.
Silverscope Original Songwriting Course This course is a six week course
that goes through
the process from start to finish of how to write a song with the lyrics,
melody, music, arrangement and structure analysed. The students will write a
song together over the duration of the course and the song will be edited, mixed and sung

Silverscope Junior Pop Star School returns in May 2012. The school combines a series of coaching/training courses for students aged 17 years and under on how
to become more accomplished and successful as a solo singer, in a duo or
within a band. The courses teach students microphone techniques, stage
presence, image and styling, how to start basic songwriting, how to put
together a demo CD, Eurovision & other competitions, approaching record companies and how

MUSIC INDUSTRY COURSE INFO: TEN MUSIC INDUSTRY EDUCATIONAL COURSE MODULES have been re-designed by a UK Music Industry Lecturer in Autumn 2008 based on the prestigious London Thames Valley University Music Industry Course from 2005/06. The course has been updated and tailor made for those living on the island of Malta with an interest in the worldwide music industry and will be taught by a professional UK Lecturer in Malta. Each of the 10 course terms will last 6 weeks, over 2 hours one evening per week.Certificates will be awarded for each participant who successfully completes each individual course module with a SPECIAL CERTIFICATE for those that complete all ten courses. Eleven certificates are available to be awarded in total to each student.
Participants may choose to book as many or as few of the ten course modules as they wish but each intake will be STRICTLY LIMITED to allow maximum benefit in learning for each of the students with the Lecturer. Therefore initially an allowance of only 5 to 10 people will be accepted per course.
The Silverscope UK Music Industry Courses are suitable for singers, musicians, bands, managers, guitarists, producers, songwriters, groups, in fact anyone of any age with an interest in music and the music industry!
Each week a completely different subject will be offered on the industry. Joanne Galea informs that Silverscope song Doing The Dance has qualified for the San Remo Festival Finals in Italy. Co-written by our Songwriting Course lecturer it is the perfect way to see in the New Year for artist Chanelle.

News: January 2nd. Course lecturer appointed A&R Director for UK record label. Our course lecturer Richard Rogers has been appointed International A&R Director for UK record label Sound Central with a remit to sign international artists worldwide.

News: November 17th. FREE Lecture on the EMI takeover and what it means to unsigned artists on 1st December. This free lecture will show the huge changes and the full impact of last weeks monumental takeover of the EMI group and how it affects the state of all the major companies. This will have enormous knock on effects for unsigned and new artists as well as songwriters and is a lecture not to be missed.
News: November 15th. Silverscope UK Lectures. We
shall not be lecturing on the Music industry Courses for two weeks from today as our lecturer will be teaching in the UK.
News: November 1st. First Georgian student comes to Malta. We are pleased to announce our first student from Georgia will be studying with us from November 3rd. Ketevan Charkhalashvili is flying over Tbilisi and joins previous students from Nepal, Phillipines, India, UK and Ireland. We look forward to some Maltese students joining us too for the new courses!
News: October 20th. Silverscope lecturer wins songwriting award. Richard Rogers has won an Audi Gold award for his song Go Get 'Em Girl which he wrote in 2004. The song was released in the UK as a double A-Side single by the artist Darshan and he also co-wrote the second A-side Butterfly Girl with Greek songwriter Nik Michaels. Congratulations to Richard.

are very pleased to announce that the YYCA Learning Centre in the
Philippines will be bringing their students over to Malta in July to
take various courses with us. This is not the first time international
groups have learnt with Silvescope UK and we happily accept any queries
from abroad from groups wishing to attend our modules. News: February 3rd 2011. Gary Numan Evokateur Remix. Electronica
pioneer Gary Numan has recently completed a remix of the Wolf Girl
single for UK artist Evokateur. The remix was procured through
Silverscope UK working with both Gary Numan and Evokateur in the last
couple of years including Evokateur performing live in Malta in 2010 at
Simon's Festival, Sliema. News: January 8th 2011. Mick Karn dies. Sadly
Mick Karn the bass player formerly with Japan, Kate bush, Midge Ure
amongst many died a couple of days ago after illness with cancer.
Richard managed Mick and he would like to give his condolences to the
family. Mick was both an outstanding musician and a wonderful person
too. Mick R.I.P. News: November 18th 2010. Silverscope Hosting Music industry Club in London On 29th November. Silverscope
will be hosting the famous L.A.Club at the Phoenix Arts Bar in London
on November 29th. This is a regular music industry evening for those
within the industry and a great chance to meet record companies and
publishers. If you are in London on this date please email us for entry
criteria. News: October 14th 2010. Richard On XFM this Saturday. Richard
will be on XFM this coming Saturday 16th October talking about the
music industry, Eurovision and his Eurovision book and of course the
music industry courses. Catch him on the show Planet Dave with presenter

News: October 5th. Eurovision Book Is Out. The
Alternative Guide To Eurovision by our lecturer Richard Rogers has just
been released by UK book publisher input Output in the UK. If you are

please email us. News: September 3rd. X Factor/Pop Idol. Richard
has been asked to judge the Asian equivalent of Pop Idol/X Factor and
will be zooming off in mid September to meet with some of the artists

News: April 16th. Evokateur. Silverscope is very pleased to announce that we are bringing over from the UK electrorock artist Evokateur to
play at Simon's Musicfest in May. Lead singer Sarah Vilaraus said

20th. Delooze Sign Deal. Thanks to the Music Industry Course, students from the band Delooze are
delighted to have been signed up to a UK record deal this week. Contracts and consultation were provided by
Richard who is delighted with the January news for both Delooze &
She2's.
News: She2's Win Award. January 9th. Maltese band She2's have won the Bay Bands Trophy
Award for December with their song Bubblegum. The track was produced and co-written by Malta Music Course lecturer Richard Rogers who also
taught their manager on the industry courses.
